Financial Aid

APPLYING FOR FINANCIAL AID

All students should apply for financial aid, regardless of whether or not they think they are eligible. Students may apply for financial aid online by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The application is free, so beware of web sites that promise to file your FAFSA for a small payment. Please review the list of documents you will need before you get started here. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Spooner in the Guidance Office.

An added bonus to completing the FAFSA online is that it will also link students to an electronic application for the New York State Tuition Assistance program (TAP). TAP is a need-based aid program for students attending college in New York State. If you have already submitted your federal application without applying for TAP, please visit the Higher Education Services Corporation at www.hesc.com to submit a separate application.

Some college financial aid offices also require families to complete the CSS Profile. Click here to fill out this additional financial aid application.

Each January the Guidance Office hosts a financial aid presentation with financial aid staff from a local college. The presentation walks students and parents through the FAFSA application and shares important updates involving federal financial aid. Both students and parents are encouraged to attend.
